Brand Design
Your brand is the first impression people have of your business, the story you tell, and the feeling your audience experiences every time they interact with you. A thoughtfully designed brand creates recognition, builds trust, and communicates the value of what you offer long before a conversation begins. At Ivory Ember Studio, branding is about uncovering what makes your business unique and transforming that into a refined, timeless identity that feels aligned with your vision, resonates with your audience, and gives you the confidence to grow with purpose and direction.

The Process
-
It all begins with getting to know you.
After you enquire, you’ll complete a short Project Discovery Questionnaire where I’ll learn more about you and your business, your goals, what you’re looking for, and how I can best help you. Alternatively, we can jump on a free Discovery Call. This gives me an opportunity to understand your project and make sure we’re the right fit before moving forward.
-
If we’re a good fit and you’re keen to move forward, I’ll prepare a personalised Project Proposal based on everything you’ve shared.
Your proposal will outline your project direction, chosen package, inclusions, investment, timeline, and what you can expect throughout our time together, giving you everything you need to confidently decide whether you’d like to move forward.
-
Once your project is booked, contract is signed, and deposit is paid, we’ll dig deeper.
This is where you’ll complete a Project Strategy Workbook, allowing us to further explore your story, audience, values, goals, personality, and creative preferences. I’ll use everything you share alongside my own research to establish a thoughtful creative direction for your brand.
It’s important to note… yes, I am the brand designer. But all the discovery and information leading up to the project ensures we are on the same page from the start. I want to ensure your brand identity reflects your business and aligns with your values and goals. I want to create a brand identity you love. This is a collaboration, therefore your input is so incredibly important to the success of the project.
-
This is where everything begins to take shape.
I’ll translate the strategy we’ve established into three thoughtfully developed logo suite concepts, considering typography, colour, composition, and the wider visual identity, not simply how your logo looks in isolation.
You’ll receive a Brand Reveal Presentation walking you through each concept, the thinking behind it, and examples of how your new identity could come to life in the real world.
-
Once you’ve selected your preferred logo suite concept, we’ll refine it together.
All brand design packages include three rounds of revisions on the chosen direction, giving us space to perfect the details while maintaining the strategy and intention behind the design.
-
Once your logo suite has been approved, I’ll develop the remaining elements included within the chosen package, from supporting brand elements and social templates to collateral pieces and Brand Guidelines.
Everything is considered as part of one cohesive visual system.
-
And just like that, your new brand identity is ready for the world.
Your final assets will be prepared, exported, and organised into an easy-to-navigate folder, with the appropriate file formats for both digital and print use.
You’ll walk away with more than just a beautiful logo… you’ll have a cohesive visual identity and the tools you need to use it confidently and consistently.

FAQs
-
Each Brand Design package has been created to support businesses at different stages of their journey.
Brand Foundations is ideal if you’re looking for the essentials - a logo suite, refined colour palette, and typography hierarchy that give your business a strong and cohesive visual foundation.
Signature Brand Identity is suited to businesses wanting to take their identity further, with supporting brand elements, more comprehensive Brand Guidelines and social media assets to help create consistency beyond the logo suite.
Complete Brand Experience offers the most comprehensive transformation, extending your new visual identity across social media and printed collateral so you have more of what you need to confidently launch or introduce your new brand.
If you’re unsure which experience best suits your business, don’t worry. You can let me know when you enquire, and I’ll be happy to guide you towards the most suitable option.
-
Project timelines can vary depending on the package you’ve selected, the complexity of your project, and how quickly feedback and required information are provided throughout the process.
Your individual project timeline will be outlined within your Project Proposal before you commit to working together, so you’ll know exactly what to expect.
I intentionally work with one client at a time, allowing me to give your business and creative direction the focus and attention it deserves.
-
You’ll receive three developed logo suite concepts within your Brand Reveal Presentation.
Rather than presenting a large number of disconnected logo ideas, each concept is developed as its own considered creative direction. You’ll see your primary, secondary, and submark/monogram logos working together, along with supporting context to help you understand the thinking behind each direction.
You’ll then select your preferred concept to move forward to the refinement stage.
-
Absolutely, where it makes sense strategically.
A new brand identity doesn’t always mean everything from your existing brand needs to disappear. There may be colours, ideas, visual elements, or recognisable characteristics worth carrying forward and evolving.
During the strategy stage, we’ll explore what’s currently working, what isn’t, and whether there are elements worth retaining. From there, I’ll determine how they can be incorporated while still allowing your new identity to feel cohesive.
If you’re hoping to retain something specific, please mention this during the discovery process.
-
Yes. Your final logo suite will be supplied in a range of professional file formats suitable for both digital and print applications.
You’ll receive JPEG, PNG, PDF and EPS files, giving you flexibility to use your branding across your website, social media, documents, signage, printed collateral, and other applications.
Your Brand Guidelines will also provide guidance on using your logo variations correctly so you can confidently maintain consistency across different touchpoints.
-
Your final brand assets are supplied in the professional file formats as previously listed, including scalable EPS files suitable for professional applications.
Native working or editable design files used during the creative process are not included as part of the project deliverables.
The final file suite you’re provided with has been specifically prepared to give you everything you’ll ordinarily need to use your brand across print and digital applications.
-
This will depend on the typefaces selected for your brand.
Where free or commercially available fonts are used, I’ll provide information on where they can be accessed. If your brand uses a premium typeface that requires an individual commercial licence, I’ll let you know what needs to be purchased and provide the relevant details.
Font licences are generally issued to the person or business using the font, which means I cannot transfer my own font licence to you.
Any potential additional font costs will be communicated clearly so there are no surprises.
-
Absolutely. If you’d like additional social media templates, business stationary or other branded collateral beyond what’s included within your chosen package, these can generally be quoted as additional project items.
If you already know you’d like additional items when you enquire, let me know and I can discuss these with you when preparing your Project Proposal.
-
Yes. Payment options will be outlined within your Project Proposal so you can review the payment schedule before committing to your project.
Your booking and deposit secure your allocated project dates, with any remaining payments due according to the agreed schedule.
If you have any questions about payment arrangements before booking, you’re always welcome to ask.
-
The most important thing I need from you is your time, honesty and thoughtful input.
Throughout the project, I’ll need you to review presentations and provide feedback within the agreed timeframes so we can keep everything moving smoothly.
-
Yes! Creating your brand first actually provides a wonderful foundation for a future website project.
Your visual identity gives us an established creative direction for your website, including your logo suite, colour palette, typography, and supporting elements. This allows your website to feel like a natural extension of your brand rather than something designed separately.
If you know from the beginning that you need both branding and website design, you may also want to explore Ivory Ember’s Premium Experience, which brings brand and website design together within one cohesive project.
-
Not at all.
I work with businesses at different stages, whether you’re establishing your visual identity for the very first time or you’re an established business ready to move beyond branding that no longer feels aligned.
If you’re starting from scratch, we’ll use the strategy process to establish the foundations needed to create an identity that reflects your business and gives you room to grow.
If you’re rebranding, we’ll look at where your business has been, what’s changed, and where you’re heading next.
Either way, you don’t need to have all the answers before you enquire.
-
Definitely not. You might have a very clear visual direction, a Pinterest board overflowing with inspiration, or absolutely no idea where to begin. All are completely okay.
Part of my role is taking everything you share about your business, audience, personality, goals, and preferences and translating it into a cohesive creative direction.
I’ll guide you through the strategy process before designing anything, so you won’t be expected to make design decisions or know the terminology. Your job is to tell me about your business; mine is to determine how we can communicate that visually.
-
Once you’ve submitted your enquiry, I’ll review the information you’ve provided and send you a Project Discovery Questionnaire to learn more about your business, your goals, and what you’re looking for.
If we’re a good fit, I’ll prepare a Project Proposal outlining your project, inclusions, investment, timeline, and what you can expect from the experience.
If you’d like to move forward, we’ll complete the booking process before beginning the deeper strategy and creative stages of your project.
So there isn’t any pressure to have everything figured out before you hit Enquire. The early stages of my process are there to help us determine whether working together feels right for both of us.
